I had missed that. I thought McCarthy was something that practicably everyone agreed on, using his name as a scurrilous epithet, whether you are a conservative or a liberal.

Yeah, I don't think ideology makes a monster.
One can probably find monsters across all ideologies.
We've had more than a few capitalist monsters.

McCarthy might very well count as one.
