Wisconsin friends pointed out after the subway swipe-mishap, the beer thing had gotten a lot of media play in Wisconsin. They also said it wasn't a big deal for them since clearly she hadn't operated a beer tap before.

Yes it's a faux pas but that's not what gets me to vote for people. I vote for policy and rhetoric (as policy isn't always achievable, due to other parties but rhetoric at least hammers home the issues) not for etiquette.
She IS eating a "real" pizza. That square style is pretty popular in NYC and it's available in most pizzerias in NYC. In fact, that style is called a Grand-ma's slice in the Italian place down the road from me. And it's pretty popular there too :-)
