Never forget - that there were people among us who thought she was qualified to be Vice President.

It gives one the shivers!

As a country, we are just looking to implode.

I distinctly remember someone saying that if she had and McCain had switched positions on the ticket, we'd be talking about our first female president instead of our first black president.

I laughed so hard, I think I sprained something.

Granted, the qualifications said people held were, "not be a Democrat".

the Pauls, Romney, Ryan, Palin, Bachman...these are the bottom of the political barrel here.

It doesn't even make sense, within the twisted narrative she's constructing. Jihad-inspired terrorists lack the fear of God? I don't exactly see Palin (or members of her audience) volunteering to blow herself (or themselves) up in furtherance of the war on terror; who really fears God here?

It sickens me, a bit, for a self-professed Christian to invoke baptism - we're talking about the initiating ritual by which a Christian is introduced to the saving grace of God - when describing waterboarding. It's such a profoundly cynical, blasphemous, and hypocritical thing to say. How can you possibly pretend to revere your God while talking about sadistically imposing that rite on a "terrorist" against their will? And how can these people applaud her? Are they not listening to what she's saying? Do they not take their own faith seriously?

Wow, you are in perfect harmony with Andrew Sullivan on this:

And how can these people applaud her? Are they not listening to what she's saying? Do they not take their own faith seriously?

I doubt these politicized fundamentalists are very big on the nuances of doctrine. It's just about whose team you are on. The Republicans show their Jesus-cred by favoring creationism and prayer in the schools and with their anti-abortion activism, and the Democrats just cannot show off those credentials. It doesn't help that a lot of them probably still believe that Obama is really a Muslim.

"If I were in charge...waterboarding is how we'd baptize the terrorists."

Yeah, and if I could fart rainbow pandas out of my ass, I'd get myself a job conducting a symphony.
