Pickton used to throw barbecues for the neighbors. There is some (off-media) speculation that some of the meat he tossed on the barbie might have been, er, "long pig."

Hence the tongue-in-cheek reference.

apparently he and his wife had a history violent enough that he couldn't let go when they broke up, and kept stalking her for a while. He has been clean and out of trouble since he got out of prison though.
