Anyone who thinks the pictures of those involved change the conditions of the event is delusional.

There however has been an issue with some news outlets heavily editing the images.

That's true. But that's most people, and it's worth examining why the media chose the pictures they did.

In all likelihood, they were probably the pictures they were given by the family and others involved in the investigation.

Pictures that made him look like an innocent child. Not pictures that made him look older, blacker and like a gangsta.

Call it what you want or make fun of it. It does not make it any less true.

You're implying that there was a concerted effort by the media to make Zimmerman look bad and Trayvon look like an angelic child. That's only one of many possible conclusions that can be drawn here. So your assertion that this is "true" is baseless.

I think the media just got the first photos they could get of each person.. photos from the family of Trayvon, and the mugshot of Zimmerman on public record from his earlier arrest. That just seems like the simplest explanation to me. The initial photos tend to be the ones used in subsequent stories. In more in-depth pieces on CNN, I've seen many pictures of Zimmerman that are not at all unflattering, though.

I notice certain livejournal users (probably) inadvertently advancing a narrative.

This seems to go against your general libertarian view that private entities should be able to do whatever they want. Do you see a problem there?

The only thing the media is beholden to is its advertisers.
