This is why there are many small businesses out there. If a worker believes that he can accomplish the whole business process by himself, there is only government stopping him.
Most people from other countries always mention how incredibly easy it is to start and have a business in the US compared to elsewhere, tax- and red-tape wise. There's a pathological strain of faux populist conservatism that likes to rant about "taxes" whether they really are unreasonable, or not.
It is very easy to start it and maintain it - yes, but then a business owner hits a wall of legislature and taxation designed to spread the wealth of old and big corporations.
Please provide a references to a real world example of this happening where it was entirely governmental regulation that caused a thriving small business to fail and not the whims of the consumer (which would include an enconomic downturn), thanks.
