[ It feels a little weird to finally be out of that church again and instead back in her 'home away from home'.. And while the events of the last week were definitely scary, even if she didn't quite get to hear about most of it, the people she stayed with were so kind and nice that she really can't do anything but feel really grateful for everything.

And she has - of course - worried a lot about Japan and Taiwan too since they were still out there.. So even though Nadeko has no clue how they faired in the event, she manages to find Japan in the kitchen. Even though she definitely notices the weariness, she still smiles (a bit shyly as usual). ]

Um.. Japan-san, good to see you again.

[ Seeing Nadeko again makes him feel better, at the very least- there is something in her presence, and he doesn't know what, but that's how it affects him. He doesn't smile, but there's relief in his expression- until he realizes that maybe something happened to her too while he was dead and he wouldn't even notice, would he? ]

...It's good to see Sengoku-san again, as well... has she been alright? [ he can't ask her if she died, of course; and you have to know him and his speech patters very well to be able to read between he lines and understand that this is what he really means, but... ]

H-hmm, I've been just fine! [ It's hard to tell whether or not she exactly got the finer nuances out of Japan's question, but either way it's the truth. She hasn't died nor has anything remotely bad happened. ]

Everyone really took good care of me, so.. I'm very grateful to them.. A-ah, of course I'm grateful to Taiwan-san and Japan-san too for arranging something like this for me. Who knows, things might have ended up a little bit bad otherwise..

[ She looks genuinely cheerful- enough so that he believes that, even if she doesn't understand what he meant to ask, that nothing bad happened. The relieved expression resurfaces. ]

So at the very least- we were able to save Sengoku-san... [ he lets out a small, relieved sigh ] I'm glad. That you're alright, as well. [ If he had been anyone other than Japan he would probably walk up to her and give her a hug right now. ]

T-that's right.. It's only because of Japan-san and Taiwan-san's idea and then because of Tomoe-san and everyone else's kindness in taking me in for a while that I was able to make it so far.. I owe so many people so much, maybe even my life.. so..

[ She makes a quick bow. ]

Thank you, Japan-san.

[ You always manage to make him smile, Nadeko ;~; it's a small one, but it's there. ] Think nothing of it. It's no problem at all.

Hmm, i-it's only normal to thank Japan-san for something like that, I think..

[ She pauses for a moment, almost nervously. ] And.. what about Japan-san? Have you been alright too..?

[ He seems to grow stiff at that question. ] ...Y, yes, of course. I've been perfectly well while Sengoku-san wasn't present...

Really? Ah.. then it's just like Taiwan-san promised that you two would be fine.. I'm glad.

[ She smiles, perhaps oblivious to that sudden tenseness - or she chooses to not touch on it. ]

If anything would have happened to Japan-san or Taiwan-san, I would have been really sad..

Ah... [ That makes him wonder if he should tell her after all-? But he doesn't want to make her sad. But does this mean he's lying to her? ...It does. He just lied to her. He doesn't like doing that. But he doesn't want to break that confident, happy cheerfulness- maybe he should tell her what happened to Taiwan? Would Taiwan prefer to tell her...? He doesn't know what Taiwan would want- and he will only do what she wants him to; after all, it's her own fate- and her responsibility. He simply stands there, contemplating all this, looking uncertain. ]

... Japan-san..?

[ She frowns a little bit in confusion, looking a bit worried too. For a slight moment Nadeko ponders waving her hand in front of Japan to make him snap out of it, but she can't find the courage to do that, so she just stares back instead. ]

[ That seems to snap him out of it. ] Uwah-! Forgive me, I was lost in thought...

Ah, n-no, it's alright! I was just worried, since it seemed like Japan-san was thinking about something difficult..

That... it isn't something I would want to burden Sengoku-san with...

If it's something I shouldn't know, then.. that's okay. I wouldn't want to intrude on Japan-san's privacy, not while Japan-san has been so kind to me..

Something Sengoku-san shouldn't know... [ pause. ] I wonder about that...
