[Even though he'd been removing random mistletoe bushes all morning, it seemed like every time he turned around more appeared. He'd already been forced to give a few patrons kisses on the cheek and was in a permanent state of semi-blush as customers alternately joked and fought over the curse. Some people were walking away happy, at least ( Read more... )

as you like it, my bf is going to kill me, curse: mistletoe, cute blond & gay, fools rush in, chaste, working

[He's walking about, thankfully avoiding the mistletoe for the most part, but is stopped when his cane hits a building. Fantastic. It is getting a little cold, maybe he'd wait inside for a few minutes and warm up. He feels around for the door and then walks in.]

[The bell over the door jangles and Teddy looks up automatically from behind the counter to spot a familiar face. Unsure that Kay will be able to navigate the crowded shop, he steps out to give him a hand if he needs it.]

Kay, hey, it's Teddy. Welcome to the Turnabout Cafe.

[Just touching him lightly on the arm.]

There's an empty table just here...

[Honestly, he didn't even know he was in a cafe at all, let alone that Teddy would be there, but he goes along with it.]

A mistletoe-free table, I assume?

Well, I can't really make any promises. They tend to show up when you least expect them.

[But it is, for now. Guiding him into the chair and taking a moment to just make sure.]

Would you like anything to drink? We offer many specialty blends of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

[ooc: going off to bed, but tag you back in the morning~ for the record, d'you want mistletoe or no? 8D]

Good, I'll be right back.

[And although it takes some time for him to get back behind the counter, allow a couple customers to pay, collect a mug and a pot of hot chocolate, and make his way back to Kay's table, it certainly wasn't long enough for a bush to grow. But, there it is. Of course he doesn't notice until he's leaning over the table to pour.]

Oh...

[Kay would've been on the lookout for any mistletoe if he had the ability to look at all, but the City seemed to enjoy toying with the blind man.]

A-apologies in advance.

[He doesn't realy know what direction to move in, but regardless he leans forward...]

eeek, how did I lose this tag?! Sorry bb ;_; politehulk December 13 2008, 04:52:54 UTC
[If he doesn't want to end up bumping together horribly Teddy has to touch Kay on cheek just to guide him right when he leans down for a quick, chaste kiss.]

There.

[And removing the offending piece of bush as soon as he gets a chance.]

Sorry about that.

[He's blushing a lot now. Third kiss of the day, more than he's had in a long while.]

...at least it isn't another bad memories curse?

[The blush is cute, but Teddy only notices in passing. There's a certain other someone he prefers kissing infinitely more.]

That's definitely true. This one is awkward, but at least it's not dangerous. I'll go get you your drink, hot chocolate, right?

[Kay prefers....well, not kissing at all.]

Yeah. I wish there were more nice curses. How about an 'everyone gets a free beer' curse?

And yes, hot chocolate.

Sorry, we don't serve alcohol. But I'll be right back.

[It takes a bit to get back to the counter and deal with a few payments at the register, but he gets back to Kay's table within a reasonable amount of time and, importantly, without giving up any more kisses. Pouring a mug full of fresh, fragrant cocoa in front of Kay.]

And there you go.

Oh, I know, I don't usually drink during the day anyways.

[He takes a sip.]

I prefer hot cocoa in the winter, anyways.

Most of the time, yes.

[another sip.]

But it helps that Fables don't get hangovers or anything like that.
