[Even though he'd been removing random mistletoe bushes all morning, it seemed like every time he turned around more appeared. He'd already been forced to give a few patrons kisses on the cheek and was in a permanent state of semi-blush as customers alternately joked and fought over the curse. Some people were walking away happy, at least ( Read more... )

as you like it, my bf is going to kill me, curse: mistletoe, cute blond & gay, fools rush in, chaste, working

[It was probably customary for most City-folk to stay inside for a curse day, but staying home meant running the risk of kissing Kate, or even Tommy. And between those two choices, it was probably safer to slog it out outside.

Of course, wandering around in the cold was far from Billy's idea of fun, and the Turnabout was the most logical place to go. Coffee? Teddy? Why not?]

[Teddy was getting good at looking up while carrying trays of empty dishes, dodging sideways when necessary to avoid a bunch of innocuous leaves. The bell over the door wasn't ringing quite as much any more as the lunch groups filtered out for the day. The kiss count was up to 3, two girls and a guy, all as chaste as possible. With any luck that would be it for the day, unless he could wrangle a few with Billy...]

[The bell rings once more as Billy pops in, slightly tentative at first, since really, he didn't know anyone else at the cafe besides Teddy. Luckily enough, he's easy to spot, and Billy makes a beeline for him.]

Do you guys brew Starbucks?

[It's a joke, of course. As if any coffee connoisseur would brew Starbucks willingly.]

Hey!

[A little bit surprised, but definitely pleased to see Billy here.]

Don't say that too loud, my bosses might order me to have you killed.

Don't tell me you're joining the indie movement.

[Parking himself down at an empty table.]

Besides, even if they did, you wouldn't.

[Right? Right?]

I can like indie music without being a part of a movement, can't I? And learning to appreciate good coffee and tea is part of my job.

[Distracted from what was becoming an automatic mistletoe-check, Teddy's not noticing the bush above the table. As if he doesn't have the urge to kiss his boyfriend all the time.]

Of course not, but then I'd have to quit. Anything I can get you, by the way?

But when you start hating on places like Starbucks, I'm pretty sure you're treading the line.

[Of course he's just being facetious, but who can say no to a frappuchino?]

Have any recommendations?

You know I love Starbucks. There just aren't any here.

[Sometimes Billy teases too much - as if Teddy would willingly leave Starbucks behind! But where to start? There are literally more blends than Teddy could even memorize.]

Depends if you're in the mood for coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

Yeah. I'd go for a frappuchino right now if I wasn't already below freezing.

[Rubbing his hands together because he's still cold.]

Coffee sounds great. Or maybe something mocha.

We definitely don't serve frappuccinos, sorry. Not classy enough. I'll get you a cafe mocha, though, you have no idea how much better they taste when you make them with good ingredients.

[Billy's just too skinny, but something warm and caffinated will definitely warm him up. And yet, Teddy can't seem to stop himself from putting his tray down on the table, wrapping his hands around Billy's, and leaning down to plant a solid kiss on his lips.]

Frappuchino's are the epitome of classy I'll have-

[A cafe mocha would be nice, but a kiss is even better. Billy leans forward into it, keeping both hands on the table for balance. He'll have to finish the frappuchino thought later.]

[And yeah, he's spending a little bit more time on this one than the random ones before. It's the curse that keeps him from realizing that they're in public until he finally pulls away to breathe and hears some giggles and whoops from a table of girls nearby.]

...Well.

[Kind of breathless and kind of flushed, but not regretting it.]

[Scratching the back of his head sheepishly, but he's still smiling like mad. The whooping certainly doesn't help the atmosphere.]

So... Cafe Mocha?

Right.

[Does he really have to go back to work? Really? But he tears himself away and manages to get back behind the counter without any other incidents. Making the cafe mocha is a bit more painstaking than some other drinks, but totally worth it. He even takes the time to twist the cream into a slightly lopsided heart before bringing it back over to Billy's table.]

And here you are.

[ooc: for my own future reference - how to. and heading off to bed, but tag ya back in the morning~]

That's pretty nifty.

[Blowing the top of the mug to cool it off slightly. It's still too hot and fancy to drink just yet.]

Busy day?

[and he doesn't mean just customer wise!]

[Aren't you proud of him, hunh hunh hunh? Waiting eagerly for Billy to take a drink, just short of bouncing.]

Very busy.

[And then he catches the second meaning there.]

Er, I mean...

[To lie or to admit he's been kissing other people, not exactly the easiest of choices.]
