Perils and pitfalls: The trip from Canberra to Fort Lauderdale

Mar 03, 2010 13:32

Right. I went and found food, but unfortunately no cider. Started this last night, but kept dozing off while typing. Now that I have eaten and slept, I will tell the tale of my travel travails.

It all started even before I got to Canberra airport )

Mountain ranges outside Los Angeles anonymous March 3 2010, 22:10:25 UTC
Myk -- actually, the mountain ranges just north of Los Angeles are called "The Transverse Ranges", although we called them the San Gabriel Mountains when I was growing up there. There's a couple of other little patches of mountains surrounding the general Los Angeles area, creating a basin, which is why it's called the Los Angeles Basin.

The Rockies are considerably further east, and they run north/south, not east/west.

And Taco Bell is in NO WAY considered "authentic Mexican food". No way.

Enjoy the cruise! I'm so jealous!

Ooh, gosh, I know Taco bell isn't authentic Mexican. It's Tex-Mex.

Thanks for letting me know about the mountains. I'll update that.

Hmmm I'd say it's closer to Tex-Yuk than anything else :) (I once got food poisoning from a Taco-Hell)
