Burned to the ground
Don't have much to say so I'll just type a bunch of words and pretend they're interesting.
Last night I got a call from my best friend, Em. Rebecca (her sister who I am good friends with) and Chuck's (her husband) house burned to the ground at 4am that morning. They lives just outside the Ironton, MO city limits. That huge storm caused them to lose power which in turn caused their heater to explode. I can't figure out the connection but that doesn't really matter.
They lost absolutely everything. Becca made it out with a pair of shoes and their dog. Can you even imagine that? Becks lost her wedding dress, fish, wedding photos, clothes...every earthly possession she had is now ash. She is lucky that she made it out with Chuck and Scotty. Had she lost her dog she's pretty much be a vegetable right now.
They're currently living with Chuck's parents who lived on the same property.
How do you just up and rebuild your whole life after something like that? I'm going to try to send them some money. I figure they'll take whatever they can get.
