Fifty-ninth part of a WIP
Title: You Became to Me (as suggested by avari_maethor)
*Pairing: Mainly Anakin/Obi-Wan with some mention of Padmé
Rating: Uhm, probably a borderline PG-13/R-ish (?)
Disclaimer: I do not own the lovely boys from Star Wars, more's the pity! What I do have is an extremely contrary muse that refuses to shut up and leave me alone . . .

The light isn't necessarily Sola's doing, though it is her fault. Did you read the small scene I had to go back and insert at the beginning of the previous chapter after you'd already commented on it that had an extremely upset Padme finding out about Sola's treachery? Reading that scene should let you know who's causing the light.

Eh, don't feel back about not knowing who Sola is. She exists mostly in the cut scenes of AotC and a few of the scenes in the novelization of that movie that aren't (and as far as I know never were) in the film at all. In the EU, we know she's Padme's older sister and that she has two little girls at the time of AotC and that she's married to an architect but decided to keep her last name for herself and their kids because the Naberrie name is more well-known on Naboo. Pretty much everything else having to do with Sola here is from my own twisted little mind, based on a way that I worked things out so that Sola's actions and attitude in AotC could make sense, logically, since it never made sense to me that 1) Padme's only sibling would or could honestly know her sister so little that she'd believe that Padme could only be happy as a stay-at-home wife with kids and 2) would think that Anakin Skywalker would not only be perfect boyfriend material for Padme, even though being with him meant Padme would never really be able to openly settle down with him as a married couple, like Sola kept telling her she needed to. This is something that falls under the same category that Sidious having used his identity as Palpatine in order to get close enough to Padme after TPM to be able to influence her decisions/actions with the Force a little bit (just enough to make sure she would end up with Anakin, as his proverbial Achilles heel) does. It makes things that happen in the SW canon make more sense to me, given what I know about the specific characters and what I know about how human beings (especially a family member who feels like she's been overshadowed all her life by a younger sibling who doesn't deserve all that extra attention) tend to act in general. *Shrugs* I'll probably get some flak from some people, for turning Sola into an outright traitor like this, but she's one of those SW characters who's not a whole lot more than a face and a name, so honestly I think this is just as legitimate a take on her character as any other would be. Plus, to me, it just makes sense for someone as intelligent and clever as Palpatine to find someone as close to Padme as Sola would be to turn into an ally, just in case he needed an extra body to exert some influence over her to make sure she'd do what he wanted her to do. If not someone in Padme's family, then someone who's like family to Padme would be the best choice, for such an ally. Since Sola's the one who deliberately pushes Padme towards a relationship with Anakin and she's really the only person who does, to me that means that Sola has to be the one Palpatine turned.

By the way, sorry if I went into lecture mode on my reply to that question. I was a wee bit sleep-deprived that night. I'm one of those weird people who babble even more when extreme tiredness starts to set in. Plus, since I've been filling pads of sticky notes and mini-notebooks and actual notebooks with reams of notes for the sequels for this baby for a lot of the whole past year, I tend to have entire complex backstories worked out in my head for a lot of the minor characters who show up mostly in the background or cut scenes of the films or else only in the EU. Sola's just happens to be one of those people. Which means I have a lot from my notes that I could babble on about her, as you can see!

Oh hehehehe don't worry about lecture mode. You should hear me when someone calls a locomotive a train or worse still gets a Boeing 747-400 mixed up with that balloon of a plane the A380 (is a plane and train enthusiast (read insane))

I'm still trying to catch up on the red glowy thing. My muse, bless her cotton socks has decided to leave me hanging with Curt and Brian's first kiss, Ewan and Hayden nearly smooching and Anakin and Obi-Wan making eyes at each other. I'm gonna trap the bugger in a cage so she can't keep running off like this and just to add more frustration I spent 3 hours making a new banner from my LJ only to discover I can't even spell my own LJ's name right after I'd saved it. *smacks head on desk....repeatedly*

*Giggles* Well, I'm that way about SW things, SW things I've worked out for my alternate 'verse, and stuff relating to Celtic lore and King Arthur legends, among others, so I really can't say anything. Though I agree the insane label can be pretty fit, at times . . .

*Wants to tell and finally makes voice really small and leans in and whispers* It's Padme, but don't tell anyone! She's about to come out of the braid for the last time!

*Wishes you luck on catching and caging the little bugger* If I knew of a way to keep a muse in place, I'd share it, believe me! Every time mine goes on hiatus, she always comes back with more characters and plot lines in tow, so I know how frustrating it can be! *Sighs sympathetically*

LJ just needs better spell-check. Blame it on the lj. That's what I usually do!

*zips mouth shut* I won't tell a soul (can't make writing small cos I don't know how) *squeaks in excitement*

URGH I swear we have muses just to enhance the likelyhood of an ulcer.

Yes I'll blame it on LJ *shiftey eyes* LJ infected Paintshop Pro and made me spell it wrong *nodds* Tis always good to have someone else to blame :) LOL

*Giggles, promises to work on that scene some this week, whispers conspiratorialy that it's a special text effect like centering, you just put the word big or small inside <> like you would for any other lj text effect*

Well, that, and just in general to make our heads hurt. I think my muse is convinced that she needs to induce at least one really nasty headache per week in order to do her job right. *Rolls eyes and sighs, throwing up hands* But what can you do, right? It's not like we'd be able to live without the little buggers, either.

LJ is always a prime scapegoat. It's got so many quirks and is so prone to just randomly deciding to act like it's on crack that the way I look at it, if what it is that you're blaming on it isn't actually the LJ's fault, then you probably missed out on blaming it for something else it did cause and so actually are just evening the score. *Grins*

*bangs head on desk* one day I'll use the FAQ and thankyou. I'll practice on my own LJ I think:)

My heads aching right now while I try and get this damn cross thingy started. I can't for the life of me figure out how to start the damn story and it's driving me nuts cos I can't work on anything else. ARGH!!!!!!!! No we can't live without the little buggers. *sighs* life was so much simpler before I saw Velvet Goldmine and discovered the wonderful world of slash fiction.

*Snickers* I love that logic. Usually I blame my husband for everything. He is a man after all and what else are they good for......apart from putting in beautiful stories where they're smooching each other......not that I'm obsessed with them smooching.....much!

Oooh this reminds me. I started a community about writers block and missing muses and what not and I wondered if you minded if I put a permanent link on it to your WIP?

*Snickers* S'okay. Have you seen my lj? It's an utter mess, with posts and crap all over the place. About the only useful thing about it is the links to some of the lj how-tos, like the text effects. I may never actually figure out how to use things as complicated as tags . . .

*lol!* So it's Ewan's fault all the way around, is it? Somehow, I don't find that very hard to believe. *Snickers*
When all else fails, just pick a scene and start writing. It's not like these goofy muses can keep things in order anyway. Even if you were to wait until you found the perfect opening scene, I bet you anything your muse would go back on you and insist, twenty pages down the line, that something else happened first and you need to go back and work it in. *Rolls eyes* Muses are good at that, you know. Believe me. My WiP originally started quite a bit later than it does now. And my NaNo project exists because the muse kept insisting that I needed to write about events that happened years before where I pushed back to, finally, in the preface and prologues for the WiP. Sometimes I think there's an actual rule against muses telling their writers stories in chronological order. Like the world would come to an end, or something, if one of them ever managed to keep a story entirely straight from start to finish . . .

*Lol!* I can see that you're not. No more than any of the rest of us, anyway! And it's not like all of them can always be smooching somebody. You've got to get some use out of them someway . . .

*Blushes* I wouldn't mind at all! I'm flattered you want to put a link up. Though I find it a bit funny that you're asking now, considering it's November and I let myself get talked into taking on the NaNo challenge and therefore actually are working on some of those events that happen years before the WiP opens, instead of the actual WiP itself . . .

*blinks* It is? How on earth can you tell if an LJ is messy? If yours is messy mine must be horrendous and I don't even know what a tag is. I've only just got the hang of LJ cuts and how to use them.

I would like very much to thankyou too. I was reading more Obi and Ani smoochies and it struck me how to start the fic and I'm happy to say I now have both Obi-Wan/Anakin and the Curt/Brian threads of the fic started. I just have to work out how to get them into the Matrix now *scratches head* I'll figure it out......*smiles happily and goes back to reading Reloaded and Revolutions scripts*

LOL yeah well you have to have some sort of story to link all the smoochies together other wise it's just an orgy and what amounts to a porno..............Jedi porn...........*brain dies*

I'm going to link them to the chapter list you put at sw_slash but now that you mention it they may well enjoy reading the piece you're writing atm too *grins*

*Tilts head consideringly to the side* I assume its messy because things aren't all saved nice and neat under searchable headings in the memories and my tags are a laughable mess there more for show than anything else and things like that . . . It just seems messy, to me, I suppose, compared to some other ljs I've seen.

Oh, hey, your welcome! I hope the fic-writing goes well from here on out, then!

*Lol!* Yeah, pretty much! Though the other would be awfully nice, too . . .

Drat! That reminds me! I meant to recrosspost and I didn't! I need to go do that, before I can forget again. Thanks for reminding me to do that!
