Second verse same as the first . . .

NaNo again. Working on the same project as last year. Hope to get at least the second part done if not the whole thing, but I have a feeling it's going to become a monster (like most SW AU rewrites seem to do for me) and may take much more than just another month of intensive writing to finish, since I already have a lot of ideas that will likely end up making it longer. The original SW novel, Catalyst, technically has three parts (a prologue plus thirteen chapters; chapters fourteen through twenty-two; and chapters twenty-three through twenty-seven): first time around I didn't even finish the first part all the way before I hit the 50,000 word requirement for NaNo and then the holidays disrupted the writing and other things happened and I drifted back to the TtRotS rewrites for awhile before working for awhile on casting and then drifting back to the Catalyst rewrite; I'll be happy if I get the second at least mostly finished this time around, honestly. I know the word count now, so it'll be another case of checking word counts until I know I'm at least 50,000 words up from where I started at the beginning of November. We did renovations on the basement a few years back and might finally get to do the upstairs this coming year, but even with having to pack things up that surely shouldn't interfer with NaNo, since most of that can wait until probably after Christmas (though I am not looking forward to having to pack up all of my books, even if I am supposed to be getting a lovely ginormous bookcase as part of the renovations!) or at least until after the big family Christmas partway through December, anyway, and NaNo will be long over with by then.

Editors note: For some reason this was saved in my drafts but never posted over here and I'm not sure why. I posted it so that, in the future, I will be able to keep track of when I was writing what story. I have a couple of years when I have no idea what I did for NaNo because I wasn't good about posting here and I need to check NaNo's records, I guess, if I want to know what was happening when . . . I have a bad time sense to begin with and real life ugliness means that things all tend to run together for me a lot. I just had someone contact me asking about a SW story that apparently I was working on the year my maternal grandma went on dialysis and my dad fell and hurt his back at work and the cancer decided to show itself by starting to eat one of his vertebrae (though we wouldn't know about the multiple myeloma until the next year, when he had to be hospitalized) and I spent twenty minutes trying to comb through the LJ in an attempt to figure out when I first conceived the notion for the actual story (an AU rewrite of AotC. That was apparently first mostly an early 2009 project, though I worked on it again in 2014 for that year's NaNo, too, even if it hasn't ever been finished, 640 pages of text in Word regardless) and why I put it aside instead of finishing it (the answer being Dad's hospitalization and the diagnosis for multiple myeloma. I feel like the second go-round was either right before or right after a relapse he had, but I'm honestly not sure since, again, my time sense if godsawful). I might add entries for the years with no mention of NaNo when I figure out what I was doing those years, since apparently now you can change dates on LJ entries however you'd like.
