So apparently a girl was murdered sometime last night on the next block over, almost within sight of my front door. No arrests made, and there are cops EVERYWHERE. I was looking out the window earlier, before Pete came home and told me, operating under the nervous suspicion that a cop car every 4 minutes was a good indicator of impending martial law. I suppose a murderer on the loose isn't much better, but at least my chances of dying/being harmed in crossfire is greatly reduced. And I think this might have had something to do with crack; Pete predicted that there would be a murder in our neighborhood within the week a few days ago, because of the crack problem. Possibly he's just physic.
Anyway, I guess no more going outside at night for awhile.
