I’ve joined another paid posting site,
ReviewMe, and, so far, I like what I see. For one thing, the payouts are based on your blog’s relative popularity, which actually opens the field MORE for posters like myself, who have a small, but dedicated, audience that doesn’t necessarily participate in blog-backing.
Second, you don’t have to continually check back, as you do with the other company with which I am involved (I’m still gutted that I missed an opportunity, no matter how little it paid, that was PERFECT for me-which has happened a couple of times now.)
Third, I like that they WILL NOT allow advertisers to insist on a positive mention. Complete autonomy, which is the fairest, and best, way to harness new media, if you ask me.
Fourth, strange as it seems, I like that their webpage is very uncluttered-when I am checking out opportunities at work, many sites won’t properly display because of all their Ajax-y goodness.
Fifth, they are very pro-disclosure. Even this posting, which is about THEIR service, requires that the blogger mention that it is a paid post (Which I do with my PPP tag, but am also explicitly stating this time.)
Sixth, the requirements for a post are simple and you are given 48 hours from the time of accepting the offer to actually WRITE the post.
Finally, the advertisers are setting their prices higher when they make offers. This site assigns a “minimum” amount for each blog you submit, based on rankings, which allows even “lesser” sites to get more profit from fewer posts.
“Yeah, but tell me about the payout” is what you’re thinking. They combine all your postings for the month and pay out on the first. While I do like constant income streams, this model is good for me, because it keeps me from dribbling and drabbling the payouts away.
So far, so good!
