• Bill is such a sucky vampire teacher!!! Did he teach Jessica anything?

I think he showed her how to "glamour" people within an inch of their sanity once. Oh, and which type of True Blood tastes less like ass. ;) But yes, he has really emerged as the kind of neglectful parents. He is the type that thinks a kid should be "seen but not heard," I bet. Mostly, he would just like to stuff Jessica into that hole in the floor until he can get home and yell at her for something or other. We get it, Bill, you didn't volunteer for this. But, come on!

In a way they’re fighting about the same thing - her nature coming between them and his inability to handle it when it surfaces.

I love those two. Jessica is pretty great by herself, but with Hoyt she is amazing. And I love Hoyt independently, as well. "You know what's in my nature? Go back to my momma and do whatever she tells me for the rest of my life." Sigh. It's tough to be a human or a vampire. Regardless.

“Life is suffering. It don’t mean you get to check out early and leave me here.”

That. To continue with the theme. I am so glad they didn't kill off Lafayette.

Agree with the things you mention that grated: The Nazi Warewolfs (okay, fine, the symbol is Runic, but still, it's just silly), Queen being broke, crazy black women, etc.

Loved Eric and Sookie's porch scene! I kind of get why she has a problem letting him inside the house, though, while she just invited Pam with little thought. I think her hesitation goes with her general unease around Eric. She is drawn to him (they are finally starting to show that), but she doesn't trust that (it figures she'd attribute that to the blood bond rather than her own feelings) and she doesn't trust him not to try and seduce her (and she doesn't trust herself not to succumb, at least a little). I think. :)
