The best laid plans...

I had this wonderful plan...I was going to get the bathroom floor done, get a new mattress and box spring (needed to be replaced for at least the last 3 years), new mattress pad and sheets, and if all the planets were aligned, I was even going to see if I could get the carpet replaced all by today.

Why you say would you want to go to such lengths? and stress?

Because finally the work of trying to get our marriage on track had reached a point where I was willing to let him back into our room and my bed. Being big into symbolism I wanted everything to be new and perfect when he moved back over to this side of the house. Sort of an out with the old (messed up relationship, bad furniture) in with the new (improved relationship, new bed and bath).

Obviously the wonderful plan did not pan out...completely. The tile work will be done this afternoon. But Craig did not go out of town like he usually does on Wednesdays and Thursdays so the surprise was ruined. Then I just couldn't seem to get the right bed and well...the carpet was a bit of a stretch even if everything else had fallen into place. Add to the disappointments...my clothes drier died yesterday.

On the good side, the relationship side of the surprise moved up by 2 days (that went well, thank you. After all he could have said no, I don't think this is going to work). We will be paying for a new washer and drier today (the washing machine probably won't last much longer based on the noises it has been making for the past 2 years) and they will be delivered Monday. Maybe I will find the mattress in the next few days...carpet and painting, well, maybe in the next couple of weeks. I have to work this weekend so no time to work on it.
