Like I said, I got an IUD today. I was going to get the copper one, but the doctor then explained my periods would likely become very heavy and crampy. I didn't initially want Mirena because of the hormones, but she explained they would only be local hormones since the IUD is placed directly in the uterus. To be honest, it wasn't all that different than a rough pap smear combined with my colposcopy...and then some. They gave me a shot of anesthesia and I took a few Advil beforehand. I was able to talk about art, as funny enough, the doctor Yee is a collector of asian art. I recognized a lot of things that would be at Bonhams in my department. I'm excited to have sex without worrying about getting pregnant...just wish it was now.
