boston

Post is public because copperbadge is being awesome and linking it to Radio Free Monday.

So I'll be graduating in mid-May, and promptly moving to Boston. Only I have, as yet, no job or place to live. I'm working on the job, but I could use some help with the place to live. This is an appeal to anyone in the Boston area who might need a roommate, or who knows anyone who might need a roommate (especially a fannish roomie!) to please feel free to get in touch with me.

Single, lesbian, 22 years old. Originally from Seattle, but I go to school in western Mass and have kind of fallen in love with Boston over the course of my visits there these last four years. Due to the whole graduating-with-very-little-money thing, I'd prefer to spread the rent around as many people as possible, and would be willing to share rooms with up to four other people, but fewer isn't a bad thing either. I think I'm a fairly easy person to live with; I'm generally pretty quiet and keep myself to myself -- I like spending time with people, but I'm not a partier. I don't have any major allergies, and while I'm nominally Jewish (looking to convert), I don't keep strictly kosher (though I don't have a problem doing so if someone else in the house does). I like animals, especially cats. I come with a lot of books and a pretty awesome DVD library, which I will make readily available to the rest of the house. I can cook a few dishes and intend to learn more, and of course will pitch in to do my share of chores/cleaning. I don't smoke.

Preferred areas of town are Somerville or Jamaica Plains (I've been told these are good areas for recent college grads), but I'm not going to be a stickler about that. I do need to be within walking distance of a T stop, though; I don't drive and in fact never learned how.

I would really love a fannish roomie; I think it would be great fun. Mostly, though, I want to avoid the disaster that is Craigslist, and I trust the fannish network a lot further than I trust Craigslist, with which I've had some bad experiences.

If you have any questions/advice, please email or PM me! My gmail handle polarisnorth.
