I had a less-than-pleasant conversation with an old acquaintance tonight, which could very well explain why I'm awake at such an ungodly hour of the morning. It didn't end on a high note, which--considering it was involving Adam--isn't all that surprising. I don't remember a time when I've felt the need to scream, laugh, and cry simultaneously.
Anyone who can condone the inhumane policies of this war as "a brilliant form of population control" is fucking sick. End of story.
Sigh. I'm not even tired at this point.
I've got to be in Barwick by 11:30, though. Dad is driving down to eat lunch with his folks, and I told him I'd meet him there. Not so much for his sake, but rather for my grandparents. I don't get to see them that often.
And while I'm at it, a little news on the homefront:
*I'm back on nightshift. Not a thing wrong with that :)
*As a token of his kind and gentle nature, Jim bought Mom a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson this week. Hmm...Wellbutrin and a handgun. That should go over well.
I thought you were looking a little down, honey, so here..look what I boughtcha.
Oh, Jim..you sure know how to pick 'em don't you? And I thought the vacuum you bought her for Christmas was King of Tacky. On the drive home from dinner this evening, Jim told me he's planning to offer her some target practice this weekend.
Here's to hoping she'll shoot the right one.
*My UGA orientation is coming up shortly. Come July 10th, Mom and I will make the drive up to Athens for their two-day orientation. Once there, I'll have to sign up for my semester classes, which should be an all-expense-paid pain in ass, seeing how I have no specified major as of this point. I already have a year of core classes out of the way, which should be a great thing, but isn't, due to this slight predicament.
I'm sort of tinkering with the idea of a Spanish major.
1.)I enjoy the language. And the people.
2.)It leaves open the option of self-employment.
I've got some time to explore some more options, methinks.
