Does anyone know about this?
Lately I've been trying to look up something about the US Constitution, i.e., what the protocol is when it comes to presidential vetoes and the responses that Congress can make to them. From what I remember of a wonderful political science course I took back in the mid-1960s, I *think* that if the President vetoes a bill, Congress can still pass it if enough members vote to pass it after that. What I dimly remember is that it takes a 3/4 majority of the legislators to do that.
The reason I'm asking -- besides the fact that I've gone hunting on the Internet for the relevant passage of the US Constitution and haven't yet found it, thanks to bad eyesight and other things -- is that Obama is threatening to veto the Republican Congress's bills, and the media so far haven't mentioned what Congress could do about that in return. Maybe they're just trying to keep the citizenry ignorant about that, a typical sort of thing, or maybe they really don't know -- or maybe I've misremembered it.
