We have been visited

I know some people are willing to contemplate the idea that there are other sapient species on other worlds, and that someday we might meet them. I have some corroborating evidence of that. Would anyone you know be interested to learn that?

I had a long-time friend, Gary Csillaghegyi, who was an expert astronomer and linguist, and well-versed in all the sciences and in mathematics, who had been a member of United States Air Force Intelligence. Back in the mid- to late 1960s, under the code-name Project Aurora, a huge vessel of some kind went down in the ocean off Spain. NATO recovered it, and towed it to this country, where it was then secreted in someplace like Cheyenne Mountain. Aboard it was found what was for all the world a manual of operations, but in a language unlike any on Earth. While other teams were assigned by the Air Force to physically investigate the craft, Gary was assigned to a team whose task it was to try to translate the manual into human languages.

I asked Gary what the beings who were in the craft were like. He said -- and he was very knowledgeable in every branch of the biological sciences -- "like nothing that ever lived on Earth."

This craft was nothing made on Earth, and crewed by no Earthly beings. Whatever beings made and crewed the thing weren't from any planet in the Solar System, since only Earth had an atmosphere and other conditions that could have supported a highly developed technological civilization. So it had to have come from the stars, or from some larger vessel that came from outside the Solar System and was parked where it couldn't be seen from Earth, say, on the Moon's dark side, or behind Mars or some other planet, out of sight of Earth. That meant it could travel among the stars. Because of the light barrier, the inability of matter to exceed the speed of light (186,000 miles per second) and the vast distances between stars, including our Sun, that meant that whatever civilization built the thing had found a way to evade the light barrier, not by traveling in normal fashion from point A to point B in space, but by instantaneously "translating" its position from point A to point B without covering the distance between, the way electrons do via quantum-mechanical aspects of physics. To date, as far as I know, no Earthly people have made such a thing or tried to traverse interstellar space -- a tragedy, because there is so much to learn out there, beyond the Solar System, and boundless resources to be had there, such as from asteroids not claimed by other sapient species.

Gary and some of his colleagues were so disturbed by what they found aboard the craft and the implications thereof that they went to their superiors and begged their superiors to let the world know what they had found. Their superiors told them no, because it might set off a world-wide panic -- the craft must have come from a civilization so powerful that they were as we are to ants, so much more powerful than us that if they wished, they could have destroyed us and our world with little trouble.

Gary and his colleagues were given a choice: they could either accept general discharges from the Air Force, and never tell another living soul about what they had learned from the craft, or they would be put in one or another maximum security federal prison for the rest of their lives, never to see the Sun again as long as they lived. They took the first alternatives, left the service, and remained silent thereafter.

But in 1995 Gary had a heart-attack. Sensing his death coming soon, which it did six weeks later, from a second heart attack, Gary told me and a few other people about the craft and his and his colleagues' work on it. Then he died, and the Air Force couldn't do anything to him any more.

I wish he were still alive to tell what he knew to you and anyone else who might listen. But there's just me. I do know he was neither crazy nor lying. I'd known him well for many years at the time of his death, and he could never tell a lie the same way twice. As for crazy, I'd seen him close to it -- he was under tremendous stress at the time of his death (our landlord harassed him to death after his first heart attack, which is a long story in its own right), and it showed in many ways. But when he told us about that project and his work on it, he always told it the same way, never changing anything, and he didn't exhibit any signs of stress or other dysfunction. He was telling the truth, and he knew what he was talking about.

This world really has been visited by beings from worlds outside the Solar System. I have more information on that, as well. If you or anyone you know is interested to learn more, please ask me.
