This crowning ass, Wolsey -
Whence hath come this gilded pig?
Who gave this butcher’s get
The right to tear all England
From foot to crown,
And split the lives of England’s best
Apart?
God help us all,
That we ever took his counsel
In good faith -
And if ever there were two
Who strove in bloody warfare
With each other,
Still had they one great agreement:
Loathing of Wolsey.
Two queens,
So sorely used
By each other
As well as Henry,
Also used in turn
By - damn him forever -
Wolsey.
If not for Wolsey,
Joan’s War
Need not have carried
To England’s shores,
Catherine would have died
The wife of Good King Hal,
And Ann,
Percy’s.
God deliver us,
Christ deliver us,
Oh Mother Mary,
Help us, deliver us
From evil -
Deliver us
From Wolsey!
