I wish they'd been able to do that for Puggsley "Two" Speedbump Pickula, the cat I had before PuggsleyOne Thorsson (who died due to the effect of anesthetic on him -- without it, they couldn't have taken the X-ray that showed he had cancer of the liver, and that euthanasia was the best option for him). It's a merciful way to go for both the pets and their human companions. Check with your veterinarian to see if that option would be open in your case.
