I went to see my GP today about the endless hard coughing I've had since June. He agrees with me that neither cancer nor TB almost certainly isn't involved in the problem, but he is concerned. He's sending me to a pulmonologist (lung doctor) for deeper study, and the lab in his building to get a couple of tests done beforehand. Fortunately, my rheumatologist has had chest X-rys done on my during my last visit (last Wednesday), so that part's already done.
Anyway, I was sitting in his office this afternoon as he asked questions and took notes on the answers, muttering as he did so. He looked up and said to me, "I hope you don't mind (referring to his muttering) -- it helps me arrange my thoughts and get a better idea of what we're looking at here."
"Not at all," I said. "As long as you don't say 'uh-oh,' no problem."
Dissolve from scene of two people cracking up, holding their ribs and wheezing.
