http://www.huffingtonpost.com/shannon-kelley/playboy-bunnies-hollywood_1_b_923237.html Fast in the wake of the success of "Mad Men," AMC's retro series on the advertising industry circa 1965, come two new period series for the fall season: "The Playboy Club" on NBC and "Pan Am" on ABC. What these two new series have in common is the insistence by their producers that when you eliminate the girdles, the cleavage and the bunny dips, the shows are really about women's empowerment. That sound you hear is the two of us choking on our morning Starbucks.
I have to say that I agree: The Playboy Club hasn't got a damned thing to do with female empowerment, and any claims to the contrary are either made under pressure by someone who doesn't dare say otherwise or half-assed attempts by men to try to fool women into believing their bullshit so that they can continue to get away with pushing their brand of soft-core porn on the public. You don't believe me? If you're male, get a sex-change operation and live for at least a year under the pressures almost all women have to deal with all the time, and then talk to me about it. If you're female, you're an idiot.
