As David says, one must wonder if the Romans knew the moment when their empire began its fall. This was our job, to pioneer the way to space and establish settlements of human and other Earthly life on other worlds, that Earth's life need not perish when, inevitably, Earth does. We failed. Obama just nailed down the last lid in that coffin -- not just America's, but Earth's. I wonder what sort of big sick thrill he gets out of that, murdering his own world. Nothing like having your own president commit collective suicide for you, damn him straight to the Cthulhu Mythos universe as a playtoy for the Mythos entities for all eternity!
