Finally, Spring!

Finally a beautiful, warm day! There are a few white cumuli here and there in the utterly clean, cerulean sky, but Mt. Rainier stands out so clearly I can damned near pick out individual rocks on its peak, which is completely covered with a skirt of pure white snow delinated in outlines of light blue and blue-grey, and the snow on the peaks of the other Cascade mountains is dazzling under the Sun. There's a thin but discernible haze just above the mountains and to the south, above the downtown area of Seattle. Smog may have contributed to it to some extent, but the bulk of it must be water vapor evaporated from Lake Union, Puget Sound, and the numerous other lakes and waterways of the region, and it gives the air a sort of shimmery sparkle, as if it were heavily charged with Magick.

My poor roses must love this weather -- up until now, it's been mostly overcast and cold. The warmth and light is a very welcome change of pace. I just hope we get more of it.
