The paranoia about medical doctors in general and psychiatrists in particular which the Church of Scientology instills in its members is what ought to be called an example of institutionally inculcated psychosis -- psychosis generated by institutional conditions outside the individual, rather than arising from processes within his or her own mind and brain.
