On Wednesday, April 27th, Science@NASA writer Dauna Coulter found herself near ground zero as a super-outbreak of tornadoes ripped through North Alabama. This is the story about the science of the event she wrote and submitted from within the disaster zone.

Nota bene to the asshole who just told me, "NASA was faking this -- the scientists are lying, using this to push their global warming fraud": I dare you to go to Alabama and tell the citizens of that state what you just told me. If you do, I will bet you ten million bucks that you either get laughed out of town or, more likely, get yourself trashed so completely that you're in a whole body cast for months. They just went through a tornado hell nobody could have faked, and they won't take well to assholes who try to tell them they are lying about it or hallucinated all of it.
