From the description given with this video on Youtube:
From Allegro Non Troppo, the film directed by Bruno Bozzetto. This is the segment orchestrated by Ravel's "Boléro." A spaceship lands on the early Earth; someone in the spaceship tosses out a nearly empty bottle shaped like an old Coca-Cola bottle. A thin layer of slime is at the bottom of the bottle. Gradually the slime makes its way out of the bottle. It progresses through fanciful representations of the stages of evolution until man's skyscrapers destroy all that has come before. This segment parallels the "Rite of Spring" segment from Walt Disney's Fantasia. Its opening moment was used as the image for the film poster.
Now that YouTube's video time is over 10 minutes, I put the two parts together. For full viewing! A long time favorite of mine. My everyday wake up song.
