Another interesting Tarot reading

This one was to answer the question Is a mega-disaster going to happen in the next 12 months? If so, what, where, with what impact on me? (That last was to give some sort of geographic relevance to the answer, whatever it turned out to be; my place of residence, altitude, longitude, latitude, etc. would indicate that whatever impact the event had on me, its severity and nature would to some extent gauge the severity and nature of the general impact of the event on the world in general.)

This is what that site gave me for an answer to the question:

1) Covers, elements of the current situation: The card not shown but at the center of the cross, represents the atmosphere surrounding the central issue. Two of Swords (Peace): Contradictory characteristics brought together as a means of resolving a conflict. Refusing to be ruled by negative emotions. Strife brought to a close through clarity of mind and restraint of force. Turning a blind eye to the minor infractions of others.

2) Crosses: The card visible at the center of the cross represents the obstacle that stands in your way - it may even be something that sounds good but is not actually to your benefit. Seven of Swords (Futility), when reversed: Being trapped in a hopeless situation and unable to withdraw. A feat of daring that is too much for you to handle. Being caught in the middle of a desperate act of cunning or outright deception.

3) Above: The card at the top of the cross represents your goal, or the best you can achieve without a dramatic change of priorities. The Hierophant: Faith in tradition and the old school. A justified and ancient source of power. Being supportive, sympathetic and loyal. Receiving instructions, learning, guidance or inspiration. The ability to hear a higher or inner voice. May also indicate a religious ritual, such as a marriage or an initiation.

4) Below: The card at the bottom of the cross represents the foundation on which the situation is based. Two of Pentacles (Change), when reversed: Imbalance and disharmony as a result of upheaval and transformation. Taking one step forward for every two steps back. Chaos caused by the shifting importance of projects and priorities. Industrious yet unreliable actions. Furious activity producing negligible results.

5) Behind, the recent past: The card at the left of the cross represents a passing influence or something to be released. Three of Swords (Sorrow), when reversed: Unsettling news that helps you to distance yourself from a destructive relationship. Painfully honest communication that needs to take place. Not letting yourself be dragged by your emotions into a negative situation. A trust or confidence betrayed in an attempt to help someone in need. The revelation of a painful truth.

6) Before, the near future: The card at the right of the cross represents an approaching influence or something to be embraced. Five of Cups (Disappointment), when reversed: Accepting a loss. Overcoming sadness and grief to get on with your life. Realizing the value of what you still have. Dissatisfaction gives way to a new hope and understanding. May allude to a broken relationship or tragedy. May also refer to a gift, inheritance, opportunity, partnership, or marriage that has fallen below expectations.

7) The Base of the Pillar, the present: The card at the base of the staff represents your role or attitude. Queen of Cups: The essence of water, such as a deep and placid lake: Spirituality, maturity, and grace. A natural counselor and healer, One whose relaxed presence seems to embody deep love and spirituality. A tranquil poet who reflects the nature of the observer. The embrace of all things dreamlike and receptive, such as perfect and unconditional love.

8) The environment, influences: The card second from the bottom of the staff represents your environment and the people you are interacting with. The Chariot, when reversed: Ineffective use of force. Might turned against the weak or the righteous. Senseless violence and warmongering. Lack of discipline and poor direction fan the flames of a situation already out of control. Advance without consideration of the consequences for others.

9) Hopes and fears: The card second from the top of the staff represents your hopes, fears, or an unexpected element that will come into play. The Magician: Mastery over word, mind, and matter. The ability to turn ideas into actions, handle problems, and control one's life. The initiation of new projects, great works, or a new way of life. Eloquent and moving communication. Arcane and eldritch technologies.

10) The Outcome: The card at the top of the staff represents the ultimate outcome should you continue on this course. Temperance: Calm and restraint. Self-control, patience and tact in handling situations. The act of applying balanced spiritual and psychic forces to physical life.

Anybody want to take a flying leap at an interpretation? That first card, the Two of Swords, which has the title "Peace" in the Golden Dawn, Waite-Rider, and Crowley packs, may hint at an unfortunate incident involved the "religion of peace," a.k.a. the Religion of Perpetual Outrage, i.e., a terrorist incident of some sort. Other than that, here are the astrological attributes of the cards:

1) Covers: 2 of Swords: 0-9 degrees Libra

2) Crosses: 7 of Swords, reversed: 20-29 deg Aquarius. The reversed condition may refer to a planet retrograde in the sign indicated by one of the Minor Arcana other than the Aces, all of which refer to the decanates of the signs of the Zodiac. And in fact, right now, Neptune is retrograde in the 29th degree of Aquarius.

3) Above: Trump V, The Hierophant: Taurus

4) Below: Two of Pentacles, Reversed: 0-9 degrees Capricorn, with a planet in retrograde motion with it. Currently Pluto is retrograde in the 4th degree of Capricorn.

5) Behind: Three of Swords, Reversed: 10-19 degrees Libra. Right now, the only body in Libra worth considering is the Moon, in the 6th degree of Libra, but the Moon is never retrograde. However, when a Tarot card is ill-aspected -- and sometimes the reversed condition is counted as meaning that -- it means that whatever it signifies is not at its best or most powerful expression. The Moon has her fall in Libra, where she is weak and volatile in action. So it could mean that.

6) Before: Five of Cups, Reversed: 0-9 degrees Scorpio. Currently only the asteroid Pallas is in Scorpio, in the 6th degree of that sign. How the reversed condition applies to her is not clear.

7) The Base of the Pillar, the Present: The Queen of Cups. She signifies the sign Cancer; as it happens, currently the Sun is in Cancer, where he is strong, and on his way to a sextile to Saturn, which is in Virgo, where Saturn is strong. This could mean that present conditions are good ones. The Sun represents career, vital energy, one's life course, business, the season (in this case, Summer), etc.; Saturn represents work, achievement, structure, and manifestation. You take it from there.

8) The Environment, Influences: Trump VII, The Chariot, Reversed: This Trump represents the sign Cancer and the first third of astrological and astronomical Summer in the northern hemisphere, which it is now. Reversed, it means that conditions -- such as weather, the economy, etc. -- aren't nearly as good as they should be for this time of year. It also can refer to conditions in the USA, as the USA has its Sun in Cancer, and right now it is in bad shape.

9) Hopes and Fears: Trump I, Magician: The planet Mercury, now in the 14th degree of Leo; Mercury is exalted in Leo.

10) Outcome: Trump XIV, Temperance: The sign Sagittarius. Sagittarius is associated with the direction north by east or northeast; events taking place far from where the Querent (me) is at the time of the reading; higher education; religion; universities; foreigners, foreign languages, etc.
