I <3 San Diego

No school today.  Woke up at 8 because I was supposed to get coffee with jenn but then turned on the news and they said that classes were canceled. I knew it! Because I was on campus yesterday night for the PPS meeting and dodgeball and when I was walking back to the car, there was such an intense smoky smell. I got a congested cough yesterday from the smell and the ashes. It was reminiscent of the fire in 2003 so I knew if it got worse, the air quality would be extremely poor. Turns out we're not having school on Tuesday too. Many people are happy because this is like midterm week at UCSD. One of my friends has like 3 midterms.
Seeing the sky this way and the fire raging on just makes me sad. I think it's weird how normally if one house was on fire, the news would be on top of it showing the firefighters putting it out but in this weird situation that San Diego is under, houses are being burned to the ground and there's no one around to help.  Sad...I can't imagine what it's like to see your house on news. I just hope the Santa Ana wind dies down. I hope everyone is safe and that this ordeal will be over soon. I want the beautiful San Diego that I know back.
Had a quite busy weekend. Took Oanh Vu Nam laser tagging on Saturday morning. They had fun =) then had a Gach Noi meeting at Tea Station at night. Sunday went to temple, went to school for PPS meeting then dodgeball. Dodgeball is fun! =) I was surprised how much fun I had and it doesn't hurt that much to get hurt.
When I was little I was amazed whenever something happened that I felt was "faith" or a big coincidence. But then I realized...many things when you realize it aren't really a coincidence. The chances of something happening isn't as unlikely as you would think. I read in a psychology book once that people who win the lottery twice when considering their chances...it's not considered that much of a coincidence. Maybe I'm not as naive as I used to be but now some things I highly doubt as happening by chance.
