Silylation of Organic Compounds?
...more like, "Silly-lation!" :D
In other news, I have written another thousand words in Mae Fortune over the past couple of days during my work breaks, though my evenings have been otherwise occupied so I've been in the middle of writing one conversation for all this time. And let me say, coming back to the middle of a conversation is one of the harder things about writing (for me, at least). I'll stare at the page and think, "where the heck was I going with this?!" and then I'll say "screw it!" and suddenly introduce a change of topic. Perhaps tonight, between juggling club, dinner, and Buffy-ing it up with Anne, I can squeeze in time to wrap the scene up so I don't have to resort to that.
I need to create a backstory for my villain. Not that it will really come up in the novel, but...it's just a good practice to know that sort of thing, to understand him and his motives better. I'll try to make it a better backstory than Anakin Skywalker's. Yes, that's right, George Lucas! Your precious prequels will serve as an illustration of how not to write a character's descent into evil! Or romance, for that matter.
In other other news, Brian came over last night and we watched more Gargoyles. I love this show, but we had quite a time poking fun at the bad animation of "Macbeth" and all the little plot absurdities in the series. Like, how did Lexington manage to not only repair the Pack's crashed helicopter wreckage in one night, but get it in working condition again and give it bizarre, gargoyle-themed armor?!
Of course, the best part was when Hyena blasted a tree trunk down on Brooklyn with her particle emission gun, and Brian looked up and said, "Hey, a tree grows on Brooklyn!" and proceeded to laugh his lungs out for five minutes :) I love my nutty, nutty guy!
