The Laundry Adventure
A pointless description of yesterday's laundry escapades:
I was at the craptastic laundromat on the corner. I pulled my three loads from their three washers respectively, and shoved them all into a dryer. This dryer had a blank display, so I figured it was broken and moved it to the next one. Dryer #2 spat back "ERROR" after I put my quarter in; two minutes later, it went to "10 minutes remaining" as if nothing had happened, but I didn't want to trust my clothes to it by that point. I found Dryer #3, that somebody had left 38 minutes on, and shoved my stuff in there. Asking around, one girl said she had left her minutes on there, but the dryer hadn't been warm enough for her, so it was fine if I wanted to use up her time. I did so. About 22 minutes passed, and I checked Dryer #3 to find that, indeed, it produced no heat. I moved it to the much warmer Dryer #4 beneath it. 40 minutes later, I found my clothes still pretty damp. Dryer #4 was, indeed, warm, but not warm enough to dry anything. Figuring things would go faster if I split up my gargantuan load, I split them into Dryer #5 and Dryer #6. I put money into Dryer #6, but Dryer #5 had a quarter stuck in the slot that wouldn't budge, so I moved those clothes into Dryer #7. Between #6 and #7, and another half hour of time, my clothes were finally dry! *siiiiiigh....* Well, at least somebody had left a ton of minutes on #6 that I could use :)
One Sunday, eaten away. Well, at least I got lots of reading done at the Laundromat of Doom! And Saturday was spiff :) If you have not seen the movie "Kung Fu Hustle," you should!
And now, because I don't want this journal entry to entirely be about things that suck:
