Sleepy times...

I feel like I've been underslept this entire week. I'd have taken a good long nap after work yesterday, but alas and alack, I had Things To Do. But good opportunities for sleep catch-up won't be until at least tonight, assuming I get back from Choir at a decent time. Here's hoping I can stay awake till then.

I finished editing Chapter 3, finally. I still don't quite know how I feel about the new material, and I guess I won't know until I get some space from it. But it is done enough that I feel ready to put it aside and move on to Chapter 4. I'm a third of the way through the year and only about a sixth of the way through the novel, but I think I'm through some of the roughest parts, editing-wise.

In other news, I had a really nice walk to the bus stop this morning, because for about half the walk, the air was filled with the scent of flowers, mostly lilacs. I didn't even have to lean over to smell the flowers; it just hovered everywhere in the air. Scent is probably the one sense I notice least, but this was unmistakeable. I love lilac trees; they have good associations for me, both with my grandma and my elderly neighbors.

writing, growing things, mae fortune
