December 20th is here! It's almost Christmas, people. If your shopping isn't done by now you're lagging way behind! I personally happen to be lagging way behind. Buuut I'll be hitting up the Macon Mall today, so things should get handled in a couple of quick trips. How about you guys? Anybody got any major presents they're planning to spring on anybody this year?
Speaking of presents, how great is it to get a box in the mail around Christmastime? Pretty great! As luck would have it, we received a package today from my Uncle Harry and his family up in Philadelphia. Let's take a look!
There's the box! It's wrapped up quite neatly and secured with duct tape. No rogue postman will be tampering with this package without our knowledge! Cutting off the outer wrapping reveals one of my favorite parts of getting the mystery package - the box-from-something-else. In this case they've decided to go with the old shoe box. Shoe boxes are pretty much the go-to-guys when it comes to shipping. They're easy to pack and serve as handy stages for dioramas during History Fair season. I should make a diorama one of these days...it's been too long. Opening up the shoe box reveals a bounty of gifts! Something for me, something for Al, something for Mom and Dad and a sack of cookies that I'm told were prepared by hand by my Aunt Sandy. Thanks guys!
So there's all the stuff. We'll just hang on to these little gifts until Christmas morning, but we'll bust into those cookies now, if ya don't mind. I've enlisted the aid of my brother, Al, for this tasting session. As you can see, the cookies are mighty good. They're a hit! Thanks Uncle Harry, thanks Aunt Sandy, and thanks to everybody else for sticking around to read this. Maybe you'll get your own Christmas packages in the mail today. Here's hoping!
Today's commercial break is a modern classic. Everybody out there should remember this one. Take a peek!

Hershey's Kisses, loved by everyone. Who knew that they had such outstanding musical talent? This spot ran on TV a LOT. I remember seeing it all the time, and by the end of the holiday season that jangly red Kiss at the end was starting to get pretty irritating. Looking at it again for the first time in a long while, that little Kiss doesn't bug me. He's got spunk! He really gave it all he had at the end when the other Kisses had already wimped out. How's that for holiday spirit? Give 'em hell, Red Kiss! Have a great Thursday, folks!
