Three days into December already. The time seems to fly by when you've got deadlines. This isn't going to be a terribly in-depth entry, but I hope it'll spark some interesting commentary. I love Christmas music. I also love the art on Christmas albums. They take pretty much every shape imaginable, just throw in some red and green or a Santa hat and bam, you've got a hit on your hands. I've compiled a few of my favorite album covers. Truth being told, I haven't actually heard some of these, but I'm talking about the pictures, not how well Billy Idol can sing "Deck the Halls."
Note to self: Listen to Billy Idol Christmas Album
Let's have a look at these. David Hasselhoff looks pretty dashing in his Christmas best, doesn't he? I like this one because he probably doesn't even realize they put his face on a Holiday album. The Raffi album looks like a Papa John's Pizza ad. Also, his head looks photoshopped onto his body. This Elvis album is definitely beyond the 'Blue Christmas' days...I'm looking at a surly, middle-aged Elvis. He could really use a smile here.
I don't think there's anything to say about James Brown's Funky Christmas that his Santa hat doesn't put into words, and who knew that Billy Idol was so big on ho-ho-ho and mistletoe? Maybe there's a track on there about rocking the manger of love. Annnnd The Beach Boys. I don't personally care for these hipsters, but who can deny the universal appeal of "Merry Christmas, Baby," featuring Mike Love on lead vocals? I know I can't.
What's your favorite Christmas album? Lemme know! Show me the album art! Mine just happens to be the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack. In fact, I think I'll listen to it on the way in to work this morning. Everybody have a great Monday!
Today's commercial is one of many to feature everyone's favorite humbug, Ebenezer Scrooge. In this case, he's got a hankerin' for some home cooking. Let's roll the clip!

What goes better with Christmas than fried chicken? Mister Scrooge may be a penny pincher, but he spares no expense when it comes to chicken feasts! And with about 300 buckets all to himself, it's nice that he found the heart to give 24 pieces of chicken to the starving Cratchit family. You see folks, that's what the holidays are all about! Goodwill towards your fellow man. Or woman. But not chickens. They're for eatin'.
