I'm listening to Any Questions on Radio 4 where, amongst other high BP inducing topics they've been discussing the measurement of happiness. I thought I'd helpfully get in early to satisfy Cameron's curiosity about such matters by saying that happiness is the return of Peep Show on a Friday night and the lip-smacking prospect of a new adaptation of I, Claudius in Radio 4's classic serial slot (starting tomorrow afternoon) with the inestimable Derek Jacobi starring (many of us of a certain age would find it hard to countenance any other actor in the role, right?).
Unhappiness is the dogma-driven unravelling of the welfare state, education system etc etc in a fast and furious fashion that Thatcher *spit* could only have dreamt of, compounded by middle class (squeezed or otherwise) tut-tutting about a fire extinguisher...
