Well, it's official now. I had a visitation from the chief exec this afternoon to tell me about the downgrading in person, rather bravely by his standards. Down one grade. If it were to impact on my salary straight away that'd be a loss of 3 grand a year. Just as well I'm salary protected for 3 years then, innit.

I'm contemplating taking a voluntary downgrade ( with protected salary) in this re-organisation becuse I don't like the look of any of the posts at my level but there are a couple of curiculum lead posts that look interesting, especially the creative and performing arts lead which would get me back to what I really love.

But getting a downgrade whether you like it or not is an entirely different matter .. and frankly it sucks!

It's funny peculiar that my oldest friend has just gone down a grade too, in a totally unrelated profession.

Yeah, given the choice I think I'd go for the more interesting and fulfilling jobs too, cut or no cut.

If I'm still working in 3 yeArs time I'll be gobsmacked. Mind you, I couldn't see me making it through until this summer, given the state I was in last winter, so who knows.

I really don't understand why I should be in a rampantly promiscuous alt dimension; can you...? :D Maybe it's why I have bonded with Captain Jack so well!
