Well, some of you may have read that the Liberty has had an issue this weekend right as I was going to take Danielle to work. She was able to unlock the doors with the power lock, but then the cargo door started repeatedly switching. The dash would not even light up when the key is turned, and no starting sound either so I am thinking either the lock problem drained the battery overnight or the lock is shorting out and somehow interrupting the ignition. Of course, like all good car problems, this happens on a Saturday so the dealer couldn't look at it until today. Except, they were overloaded and couldn't look at it today either. I was the only one on Saturday night so the hotel paid $57.00 for a cab to take me in, and then they had the shuttle driver take me home at the end of the night. Kind of a good thing they did, tips were pretty good and we could obviously use the money for repairs. Sunday at least I was off, but I am on tonight and though I've tried to call out they want to send a taxi again. Have to wait for Danielle to get home to see how that works. And of course Danielle was off Sunday and it was a nice sunny not-too-hot day so we COULD have had a lot of fun somewhere.
On the upside, I've joined a gym this week with my buddy Tony. I went to my "orientation" on Friday and felt pretty good about it. The membership is a little pricey, but Tony only has choice of two gyms because of a special piece of equipment he needs to train on for his firefighters exam. There is definitely a lot of value in the price, for one thing they design a workout for you and put it into the computer for use on the machines. Tells you how many reps at what weight on which machine in which order. Sort of like having a personal trainer. They have all the usual equipment and pool, sauna, jacuzzi, ball courts, etc. And, most useful, they have a supervised youth activity center for when I have to bring the girls along. I am pretty excited as I have not had a gym membership or at least a very active work environment in years now. Plus, just for giving up regular soda (only Zero or diet) and not eating after I get home from work (usually around 10pm-midnight) I have lost 20 pounds in a little more than a month. I'm sure I can make a pretty decent impact with 2-3 sessions at the gym with Tony each week.
