The rules and the prompt are clear! I've just one question: what is a drive-by prompt?

Prompts are usually one-month long. (Or, um, three weeks because we have a review week.) A drive-by prompt would be a week long or so, so very informal. :D

If suggestions are okay, can the next prompt be a little more genficcer-friendly? I don't support too many ships outside of Diamondshipping enough to write them and I'm more of a genficcer.

Not that I mind the challenge and being pushed beyond my boundaries, but I'd like a chance to play where I'm more comfortable once in a while.

Sure! We'll try to keep that in mind next time. If you have suggestions for more gen-ish prompts, please feel free to suggest them here.

Also, I'd like to point out that you don't have to interpret this song romantically. How you choose to view the prompt is completely up to you.

True, I can see where it could be used outside of a shippy context. I guess I didn't see it at first.

I'm really considering joining the community and was just wondering if there are any rules on the pokemon that character's have on their team. Like the gym leaders have specific pokemon in the games, are we expected to have them keep those same pokemon or can we change up the teams?

Nope, we don't have any specific rules on trainer's pokemon teams! We do encourage you to use discretion when it comes to the canon though. We have no rules against you writing Misty having, say, a gen 4 grass-type Pokemon, but since she is canonically a gen1/2 water-type trainer, it might be odd and your readers might wonder why unless if your story is about how she got that Pokemon.

I decided to try my hand and just posted my fic. I think I tagged correctly but I couldn't find a tag for Steven Stone so he isn't tagged (even though he is the main character).

That's fine! I usually check to make sure people tagged correctly, and if there's no tag for the character, I'll add it. :3 Doing so right now.
