Veilstone City.
It had been a good while since he had been here, but everything still looked just about the same as always from the last time he had been here (which was a good few months ago, if memory served him well). Same old (and somewhat boring) buildings, the same hustle and bustle (which sounded somewhat monotonous after a while, once you got over the initial rush), the usual fare of drama and suspense regarding the rumours flying about the now sealed off and abandoned building that had once served as the headquarters of the ex-infamous Team Galactic. Of course, that had never stopped the children from going around to explore the place; all Phoenix could say was good luck to them in case the Gastly and Shuppet decided to play a prank on those little rascals.
He could sense Jabberwocky's excitement already from the moment he stepped into the city - for him, Veilstone just happened to be the ultimate prankster ground. Loads of people around to hide his tracks, which of course also meant that there were a lot of people to get their wits scared off with his many pranks. The ex-ranger-cum-semi-retired-trainer could only let a smile cross his face as the Sableye snickered from his usual spot on the human's shoulder. Said snicker was more than loud enough to cause the Oddish in his arms to made a sound and wriggled in his arms, trying to hide in fear. Meanwhile Léon only snorted from behind and glanced away while Felix made a disapproving sound from his other shoulder. Karma and Nicolai were in their Pokéballs at the moment, though that was soon to change once he got himself settled.
Phoenix glanced around the city as he paused in his steps for the moment, adjusting his hat and looking hardly perturbed at the looks he were receiving from the general crowd as he walked about with four of his team in tow on and behind him. He might be a disbarred Ranger, but the values imparted to him were so much more than any trainer rule could ever mean to him. Besides, he doubted that any Pokémon would ever like the solitary captivity that the Pokéballs gave anyway; he only kept them in there when it was absolutely necessary - as horrible as it was, they were also the safest in their Pokéballs.
His attention was drawn back as Charley whimpered from his arms, and the man looked down towards the grass-type with one of his more fatherly smiles. "Hungry, are you?"
"Odd," was the soft response from the young Pokémon.
Phoenix only let his smile widen a little before sighing and raising his head to glance at the rest of the team. "Well then, looks like a trip to the resident Pokémon Centre is in order then. Any objections, guys?"
All of the Pokémon shook their head in response, though Jabberwocky snickered again and gave Charley a grin hat caused the Oddish to squeal and bury itself once more. The human sighed at that and sent the Sableye a glance before shaking his head in slight exasperation and started to make his way towards the centre with his team in town behind him.
