Not actually sure if this is appropriate or not (good job that, meant to be helping manage the place) but I was hoping some of y'all, being both pokemon fans and working artists, might have some input for me.
The first round of pokemon I went through (1-151) I did with brush pens and crayons for those who don't know. I also did them in spiral-bound notebooks so there are about 25 pokemon to a book (plus or minus, ie some have 2 pokemon on a page, others I messed up and had to tear a page out). now I have 6 of these sitting on a shelf and will probably not do anything with them the rest of my life- so I was wondering if I ought to try and sell them.
Thing is, I hate to sell the individual pages (which I imagine most people would be interested in) as the whole 'book' format is part of what I think the appeal is- plus selling individuals will leave me with a bunch of random drawings I'll have to keep around forever. Buuuuut I wouldn't want to sell the books too cheaply as each one has 25 or so drawings in it- even $25 seems too cheap as in my currency, that's only £13. I'd want to try for $50 even though that sounds really high, it IS 25 or so individual drawings, some of them representing a lot of work. $2 a drawing seems like a good deal, but at the same time the person would have to be buying 25 of them, and they don't get to mix and match.
On the other hand, if I'm likely to sell a few individual drawings for higher prices (so it would make more money overall) I don't mind splitting the books up... but once I commit to that route I can't go back because pages will then be missing.
So just to get a bit of opinion, is it worth trying to sell them, if so, where should I go? Is it even legal to sell fan drawings of a property like pokemon through ebay or etsy or would I have to do it all privately somehow? How much would a pokemon fan be willing to pay for a batch of 25 pokemon even if they only want one of the drawings?
As a compromise, would they be easier to sell if I split the notebooks and had them re-bound in chronological groups of 10-15? (Noting that the re-binding would factor into the selling price)
