Red Chain--what is it? How does it work? What is it made of?

Remind me again exactly where it's obtained in the games? It's from Platinum, right?

You the player never get to use it. It's apparently made from *something* with the Fairies to summon Dialga/Palkia in DP.

Ah.

Maybe it summons their energy somehow? Like in the 2nd movie, how Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres all had to be captured for Lugia to appear, you know?

No they didn't. Articuno never got captured, and the legend only said the balance had to be disrupted to make Lugia appear (which makes me think that Jiri realized, on some unconcious level, what they could do which is why he continued to capture them once the balance was out of whack--or it could be his obsessive need to have a complete set).

Anyway, since the Red Chain is a physical object, it must be forgable somehow.

'Cept when you capture the Fairies, they have the jewels back. Maybe it's like Slowpoke Tails where they regrow.
