Okay so I haven't got very far yet in X so I'm going to expose myself as a not-well-read noob here but... what the dickins is friend safari? D: I keep seeing friend code posts but I haven't added one as I've no idea why I'm doing it! Any helpful links or tl:dr explainations would be awesome!

in the old games it was safari zone but in x/y it's called friend safari! you register friend codes and they'll appear in your friend safari.

every friend code will be assigned a different pokemon typing, with 3 different pokemon in the safari zone.

oh i forgot to mention, the friend safari is only accessible once you beat the elite four/champion!

Oh I'm forever away from that haha. I've got 10 hours played and haven't even got to the 2nd gym yet. I'm just about to but still.... I like to dick about in the grass and catch *everything* as I go along lol.

it took me 8 hours to reach the 2nd gym, i thought i was doing something wrong lol

i know! there's tons of different wild pokemon in each area, it doesn't get boring.

i'm at your safari now, your safari zone type is normal and the pokemon in it are teddiursa and minccino! so cute!! the last one will be available when you beat the elite four :)
