On pokemon Emerald...
I was goin back and forth between hatching a perfect team and leveling up after Flannery's gym and then I happened to look at the list of pokemon that can be caught in the game. I noted that there is Bagon, a pokemon that I've never had/used.
My Google-fu is failing me, so I ask here: How early in the game can you go and catch one? I'm interested mainly because I'd eventually want to send one over to my Diamond game, which has 90% of the the pokemon seen, but I'm iffy if I really have to wait past E4 or something.
