Pokemon Dreamworld question

Sorry to bother everyone ~ I have actually googled this but don't seem to be able to get a concrete answer either way so.
Basically, my question is this: Proffesser Juniper comments that you can only have 50 pokemon on your board because otherwise you can't get to the island.
Does this mean that I can only, EVER, transfer across 50 pokemon from the dreamworld to my game?
