I'm not sure why the term "soft-reset" was used, but I think they meant that because your game can only hold 3 wonder cards at a time, and considering that there are three Shiny Beasts, you will have to delete the wonder card of one of the Shiny Beasts to make a slot so that you can get Ash's Pikachu.

That's what I figured but I've heard the term "soft-resetting" on here before and just wondered what it meant.
