question about legendaries [HG/SS]
(first time poster, so i apologise if this has been asked before.)
on SoulSilver, i ran into Raikou after the legendaries scattered from the Burned Tower, and thinking i had a chance at catching it while it was asleep, i had my Paras use Spore to put it to sleep. to my surprise, Raikou continued on in battle as if nothing happened, and ended up fleeing shortly after i attempted to catch it. a friend suspected it was a glitch, but i didn't research it. however, this afternoon, i ran into Raikou again, and it still says it's status is asleep, and it fled from battle before i could attack.
my question: is this a glitch, or are the legendaries immune to status effects as wild pokemon?
(also as a side question: is it odd to run into Entei while surfing? i'd suspect not, but it was the least likely place i would have thought of, and yet...)
